Brampton Arts Organization (BAO)'s Newcomer Creative Exchange program is for newcomer artists, creatives, or cultural workers looking to continue their arts and culture careers in Canada. The program creates a space for these Brampton-based newcomers to gather, network, create, and learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

For our sixth and final Newcomer Creative Exchange session of the year, we will be taking a field trip to the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC).

The Brampton Entrepreneur Centre empowers entrepreneurs and small business owners to turn their visions into reality! Whether you're just starting out, refining your business plan, or navigating changes in an established business, BEC’s expert guidance and resources are designed to fuel your success. With most services free of charge and the rest offered at an affordable rate, BEC provide the tools you need to grow and thrive. As part of the City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office, BEC is your one-stop hub for innovative business support in a dynamic and flourishing city.

Join us as we learn about the resources available for creative entrepreneurs at BEC. Following the tour, we will hear from two local creatives on how they’ve started and grown their creative businesses in Brampton with the support of BEC.

This session and all Newcomer Creative Exchange sessions are free for Brampton residents.

The Brampton Arts Organization is a registered non-profit that champions Brampton’s diverse arts, culture and creative industries and advocates for the #BramptonArtist. We work to build a thriving, confident, valued, and empowered creative scene by offering a range of programs, services and resources. In this, BAO is a key partner in fulfilling the City of Brampton’s strategic vision and Culture Master Plan.

Throughout the year, we offer free in-person and virtual programming for all creative disciplines. These programs focus on helping artists build and professionalize their practices. We also create opportunities for artists to show their work through regular calls. In addition to these programs for individual creatives, we offer programs for Brampton-based creative businesses and arts and culture organizations.
