Introduction:
As a precursor to our "Show and Tell" event on Saturday, July 26th 2025, this internal Demo Day is a critical milestone for students participating in the Exposure Workshop. Over the last 10 workshops, students have developed various applications, and this day is dedicated to honing their presentation and demonstration skills. The focus is on perfecting their projects and preparing to engage a public audience effectively.
Before Demo Day, students are encouraged to prepare a tech-based presentation on any topic related to coding, app development, innovation, or problem-solving. There are no topic restrictions—just creativity and impact! You can also connect with your Chapter Leader ahead of time to discuss and refine your idea.
🚀 The best presenters on Demo Day will earn a spot to showcase their work at our Grand Finale in July!
Agenda:
· Presentation Preparation: Students will prepare detailed presentations of their projects. This includes crafting clear, engaging narratives that explain the technical processes and the problems their applications solve.
· Practice Demonstrations: Each student will conduct multiple practice demos of their apps. These practice sessions are designed to simulate the actual Show and Tell environment, allowing students to refine their delivery and technical explanations.
· Peer-to-Peer Feedback: After each practice demo, students will receive structured feedback from their peers and instructors. This feedback will focus on presentation skills, technical clarity, and the overall impact of the demonstration.
· Technical Rehearsal: Students will also participate in technical rehearsals to ensure that their demonstrations run smoothly, with a focus on handling the setup, transitions, and any potential technical issues that might arise during the public showcase.
Objectives:
· Enhance Presentation Skills: Strengthen students' ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently to an audience.
· Refine Technical Demonstrations: Ensure that all technical aspects of the applications are flawlessly demonstrated and easily understandable.
· Iterate on Feedback: Use peer and instructor feedback to make necessary adjustments to both the projects and the presentations.
Why Participate? Demo Day serves as an essential rehearsal space where students can practice in a supportive yet constructive environment. It’s designed to replicate the conditions of the public showcase, providing a vital platform for troubleshooting and refining presentations.
Unlock the power of confident communication! Our Presentation Workshop is designed to equip kids and youth with the essential skills they need to deliver compelling presentations. Participants will learn the art of impactful storytelling and effective virtual communication. It's not just about speaking, it's about connecting, persuading, and leaving a lasting impression.
Attendees will gain invaluable experience through practical application, building their confidence and competence. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have the knowledge to not only engage but also inspire their audience in any setting. Don't miss out on this opportunity to transform your presentation skills to make an impact!
Conclusion:
This day is all about preparation and perfection. We encourage all students to embrace feedback, practice diligently, and leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of excellence. The skills developed during Demo Day will not only contribute to a successful Show & Tell, but will also serve them well in school, future careers, and life.
We strongly encourage interested students to prepare at least a first-level presentation at home and bring it to this workshop for refinement and feedback. Some chapters will even offer gifts to top performers in July—so bring your best!
The journey that started months ago reaches a key milestone in this June workshop, as we get ready for the Grand Finale in July.
See you there!
